Do EDF charge extra for an IGT?

Options
Hi - starting to think about what to do when my fixed price tariff with Ovo ends on January 15th.

Did a comparison and EDF fix till December 2012 is coming out the cheapest. I am on an IGT though so need to factor that as Ovo do not charge extra for a IGT customers. Does anyone know if EDF charge extra for an IGT and if so, how much?

Yes, EDF do charge extra for an IGT.
Not sure how EDF calculate the extra ([STRIKE]it may depend on which IGT you actually have[/STRIKE]) but this site suggests an additional annual cost of between £40.74 and £71.54

Edit: Not sure how accurate that site is because it indicates SSE also charge extra for an IGT, but they don't.

EDF do definitely charge extra though ... and the above price is probably a good indication. I would suggest you double check direct with EDF before deciding to go with them

Ah I was hoping that OVO didn't charge extra for an IGT as I have one (found out when I tried to switch to First Utility) so that helps me as they are coming out as the second cheapest supplier for me.

Sorry but that site is out of date - EDF do not charge extra for IGT. In fact, out of all major energy suppliers only NPower and EON charge extra for IGT - and even then EON only charge extra for certain IGT companies.

Actually the site I linked to appears up to date :)

It is this old thread, and hence the old posts such as mine you quote, the content of which may well be out of date now ;)
