Paypal ...not sure what to do for the best

hello folks

iI wonder if any of you could give me some advice.

i have been an ebayer for a couple of years , mainly buying but did the odd bit fo selling last year. My buys were deducted off a credit card and when I sold and made a few quid I asked for it to go into a current account.

A couple of weeks ago.... I couldn't use pay pal, it said I had no funds left and to set up a direct debit, it would take 3-5 days, so I pressed the button and up came the current account (little used, these days, but convenient High street bank), so I started the process....it took 8 days ! (It invloves them paying 2 small amounts etc etc). Though why they needed to verify that this was my account after paying me twice last year I have no idea!

However I have paid for a couple of things by palpal thinking everything was hunkey dorey again.... BUT the payments are pending..... looking further in ...... it seems I paid by echeques and takes 10 days to clear!

This is not what I wanted obviously.! I want instant payment! What should I do? Meanwhile wiill the sellers get a bit annoyed with pending sign taking for ever!

I look forward to hearing from

The problem with e cheques might be an paypal glitch and nothing to do with your account.

Just recently paypal seem to have converted some paypal payments to echeques at a whim. I had one buyer got really cross when I told her that her paypal payment had come through as an e cheque and would take up to 14 days to clear! That particular buyer had made a payment before and after the one she made me and they went through OK.

In that case I refunded her payment as she couldn't see how to cancel it herself, and she repaid and this time it came through as a 'real' paypal payment.

E cheques are a real pain, although the e mail from paypal suggests a time frame for clearance they can actually easily take up to 14 days and more before the payment 'clears' and the paypal email your seller received would have told them not to send the goods before payment cleared, so you might be waiting for a long time.

I wonder if it might be worth recalling th epayment and trying again?

I was just about to post a similar question. I've used Paypal for some time, no problem. Last thursday I went through the verification process and I'm waiting for the 2 sums to be paid in to my account. In the meantime I've just bought an item and didn't realise the seller didn't do Paypal. I did check feedback but I'm so used to everyone using Paypal. I contacted them and they gave me a paypal number to use and I agreed to pay a little extra. When I went to pay, payment was refused, insufficent funds, and I was instructed to verify ( no idea it took 10 days) Now I'm concerned I'll end up with neg feedback. I could pay by cheque but I've been robbed once. The amount is roughly £ 70.
Is there a weekly limit you can spend? the money would have been taken from my credit card and I'm nowhere near the limit on there.
    I'd appreciate any help
    Thanks

Just checked again. Paypal claim I've reached my £500 monthly limit. I haven't spent anywhere near that and nothing untoward shows up on there. I've filled in one of their questions and we'll see what happens.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I worked out I had spent the £500 in total through paypal . Not sure why they should suddenly want to change it now!

How do I recal the echeques?

I will contact my two sellers and let them now of my troubles!

    Cheers
