What a lovely relationship that must be
Anyway, no you can't appeal, shes your PARTNER << that very word means she should support you while your out of work, Just like you should support her if it was the opposite way round. Thats how relationships work.
Your partner could try to claim for HB/CTB as mentioned previously.0 -
So if it was the other way around and your partner couldnt claim JSA would you tell her your not helping her and suggest you split up as its easiest?0

Did the girlfriends grant ask if she was single, perhaps you could argue that her grant is for her studies alone if it was.
Irrelevant. Income related benefits take into account household income, full stop. The source of the income is completely immaterial to the DWPs decision to include it (in the same way that they will completely disregard the OPs preference to keep his finances separate from his partner, and the OPs partner's preference lack of keeness to support him).0 -
I think that would depend on whatever case law there is.0

No, her student grant can't be argued as irrelevant to the household budget because she personally applied for it rather than as a couple and no amount of supposed caselaw can get around the rather fundamental means tested regulations that take into account all income.0
