Hi everyone am a newbie-
I have been on ESA wrag for 2 years, have degenerative disks in my spine and currently have a disk gone in my neck am awaiting surgery for the 2nd time.
My right side is very affected arm/leg have been on massive amounts of morphine etc..
Am also pregnant which was unplanned and I continued with the pregnancy as they were going to replace disk at 16 weeks but didn't, that's another story..
Have coped best I can and am having baby on 9th Dec by elective section 3 weeks early due to other problems, am anemic and going through morphine withdrawal with medical guidance..
Just received a call from jobcenter saying they want to see me for a wfi on the 25th-2 weeks before the birth, asked them to defer it but they won't..
If I was claiming income support I wouldn't have to do this, don't understand the waste of resources..
Does anyone know what I can do ??
Thank you..

Get a note from your doctor stating you won't be fit to attend.
On the other hand, the WFI is a short interview only, and not too bad in my experience.0 -
One way to look at it, if you can manage it, is that if you go and explain your case they'll be much more amenable than if you just hand in a sick note. I know a friend's partner however did ring up and explain they were having an operation and it would be a good 6-8 weeks before they'd be available for another interview and they did postpone it for a couple of months so if you can't manage to get in then there is an alternative.0

It's reasonable (in their eyes) to ask you to take the bus, for example.
In addition, it may be possible to get a refund for a taxi, you would need to contact them first I think though.0
