Found an old policy from Royal Co-operative Collecting Society, can anyone help?

Ive found a policy document in my late mothers documents for an infantile policy in my name that my mum took out when I was born. Its with a company called Royal Co-Operative Collecting Society and the premium was 1d per week. It started in 1958. How can I find out if this policy is worth anything (either now, or on my death). I dont think this company is around any more but cant find out any information on who has taken over the policies.
