£80,000 to invest

I have £80,000 and dont need it ! I want to leave it alone for ten years or so , where should I put it ?

Ideally I also want to be able to put more money into it each year.

Do you have other cash and inv3estments? Do you pay tax? Do you have a pension?

With a time frame of 10 years, I would go for equities for most of it (or all if you have cash saved elsewhere) but where will depend on your employment and tax position (ie ISAs or pensions etc).

With what you have told us so far, its a case of pick a number between 1 and 20,000 and that is your answer.

We need far more detail to give any sensible response.

My question was relatively simple I thought ? I want to stash it away for approximately 15 years , without risk !

I am a UK tax payer , outright home owner , with private pensions and £277,565:19 in the bank

No. You left it far too wide open. We didnt know the objective, tax position (now and future), risk profile, type of investments suitable for your knowledge, type of management you will be giving them in future etc.
    without risk !

    no such investment currently exists.

Investments carry investment risk on a sliding scale.
Cash savings carry inflation risk (i.e .interest lower than inflation guaranteeing you a loss in real terms over 15 years) and possibly shortfall risk if you have a target figure.

So, on the basis of no "nil risk" option exists, what sort of risks are you looking to avoid and which will you tolerate?

Keep it in an easy access acct until NSI opens a new ILSC offering and invest in that - to shelter 60K you will need a spouse, which again you have neglected to say if you posess?

I hope you have that 277K cash spread around different banks? Sounds like you are cash heavy to me and I would suggest taking on some investment risk of some kind as your 277K and 80K will be losing ground to inflation.
