Usb 1 or 2

Took me a while to ask this question as it makes me look a real SOG.

How do I know if my usb ports are 1 or 2. Does device manager tell me somewhere, did a search but nothing to tell me.

Expresso. SOG means, silly old goat, it applies to a lot of people who are always having senior moments and I'm one of them!!

Neither have I, I was going to ask as well but didn't want to look like a SOG.

Glad you asked I have always wondered this too.....:T

Just to add that it doesn't always follow if you have enhanced host controllers in device manager (for usb 2) that your usb will be running at usb 2. You can check by right clicking on enhanced host controllers and choising 'update driver' option. Let it find automatically for new drivers. Once it's updated you'll be running usb 2.

I have the magic USB2 driver but I still get message saying "this device will run faster when connected to usb2" at start up???
