Ctrl, Alt, Del

My windows is XP and I have a fairly new PC. However, when necessary I have to turn my machine off completely from the plugs. Ctrl, Alt, Del does not work. Is this something to do with XP or a fault on my machine?

Start, Turn Off Computer dont use Ctr, Alt Del unless Turn off computer from the start menu is missing.
  • Most computers will shut down if you press and hold the power button. Still not recommended, but it's probably safer than turning it off at the wall.

Does CTRL+ALT+DEL not work altogether, or does it just not restart if you do it twice? Actually checking on a copy of XP Pro at the moment CTRL+ALT+DEL brings up a box with options for Task Manager, Shutdown, Log Off, Lock Computer and something else I can't remember right now. But pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL again does nothing. If I remember correctly from my home computer, XP Home doesn't do this, but I don't think it's supposed to restart if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice.
