Hello ...
I currently have a Capital One Classic card, I have applied online for a Capital One Progress Card. I had to sign the electronic acceptance form and they said they would perform addtional checks.
What does this mean? Will I be accepted. Its been 5days and I have not heard anything.
Also I pay my balance in full every month on my classic card and have had 6 statements produced and paid.
Thank you in advance :A

Call them up and ask what the decision is.
It simply meant your application required human intervention - the computer didn't have enough information to make a decision by itself, so an underwriter will have a look, and they will either approve your app, or decline it, or write to you asking for documents.
Capital One are pretty quick with referred applications so if you call them they should be able to confirm the decision and limit if approved.
Good luck!

As a follow on from my previous post regarding applying for a Progress card when I hold a Classic card.
I have received a letter from Capital One stating they have cancelled my application as I already hold an account with them!!
I am confused as I thought you could have a progress card if you already held a capital one classic??:huh:0 -
I have both a cap1 classic and after 6 months applied for a progress and was accepted. They knew i already had the classic as when i called to activate the progress they said that as a customer already i knew all the benefits ect.0

Unusual,It is against their own T&Cs to offer 2 cards. See here - taken from their own terms and conditions.
If you already have a Capital One card or if you are not a UK resident please do not apply.

I got the progress card a couple of months ago and also have the classic.
Only a £200 limit though0 -
I think I will call them. I have just checked my credit report and they have not recorded any searches yet. I am a little bit confused as I thought you could have both cards but maybe I'm wrong.
I will see if capital one can clarify this for me.0 -
I got refused at first also for the progress when the classic wasnt showing as closed on the cras, but they will back down if your other has been closed.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

This isn't in the terms for the Progress card, but it is for the Classic card.
You can apply for a Progress as an existing customer if you hold a Classic and have done for 6+ months, but you can't do the opposite - apply for a Classic if you've held a Progress for 6+ months.
I think OP was declined out of hand - perhaps they underwriter who review their app got confused?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I have actually called them and when I quoted the application reference they said the application had been cancelled as I hold the Classic Card with them. The woman did say she could put the application through as I have had my Classic account for 6months+ so I am guessing that if my application was 'declined out of hand' they wouldn't want to put another app through the system.0 -
