  • No as with your partner working full time as well as you part time you will be above the threshold.

Find the maximum LHA rate for a 1 bedroom property on the Direct gov website (assumes there is just the two of you but you can identify the bedroom rate if there are more occupants).

Then work your way through the Turn2us online benefit calculator to identify if you are due any benefits whatsoever.
  • It's not the amount of hours you work, it's the amount you earn. Check entitledto and while it's not wholly accurate will give you a rough idea (I usually find that you get a little more HB than the amount the calculator quotes.)

  • And if they were both on minimum wage on those hours, I can guarantee they will be over the threshold.

I was wondering about that. Assuming the hubby is NMW at the most, the take home pay would be around £1300- 1400 per month.

It depends very much on where someone lives. In London and parts of the SE a couple in this situation would get some help.

If you are married, why are you talking about "your" pay and "your" rent? Are you separated?

  • ^^ maybe because her partner only has to contribute only £25 towards the rent out of his full time wage, yet she's on here asking for help. Yes, amazing.
