Not forgetting that the UK is one of the few countries to slavishly enact every bit of garbage that comes out of Brussels where other countries just cherry pick with impunity.
UK legislation tends to be prescriptive whereas EU legislation tends to be very general.
The problem in the UK is there will always be some lawyer out there looking for ways to exploit loopholes i nthe law and do something the average person might think is unfair/dodgy - that is why UK laws (certainly i nconsumer protection) have things added to them to make them 'tight'.0
