As the title may suggest, I popped into Currys at the start of the month and bought 2 items, a keyboard for £100 and a laptop for my mum for her birthday (paid on my debit card).

Now 20 days later the keyboard has developed a fault which when contacting the manufacturer (Razer) inform me that I should get the item replaced.

But, I don't have the box, manuals or the receipt. What are my chances or taking the keyboard to currys and getting a swap?
    Zero?

Thank you all for the replies.
Just to clarify and to help myself out a bit more:

Im worried the following conversation will happen:

Me- In here to exchange this keyboard as its faulty, here is the receipt.
Them- Do you have the original packaging?
    Me- No.
Them- Then we can't do anything sir.
Me- Can't you just keep the packaging from another one?
Them - We can't do that sir sorry.

And knowing the store I go to, that conversation will happen, exactly like that.
Is there anything I can quote, refer to, which will help me out further?
I'm sorry If this is a dumb question, but I would rather be prepared for everything.

Do you or don't you have the receipt?

I am always puzzled why people throw away receipts just after purchase, but even if done by accident, why would you dispose of the manuals?

  • Yes I forgot to mention I found the receipt the other day. I kept it because I bought my mums £400 laptop the same day.
Space in my house is limited so I just threw away the box and manuals. I am naive to think that products last long nowadays. Both my keyboard and a new mouse I bought are starting to degrade.
But the mouse was scan.co.uk, returns shoulnd be a problem, I hope, because guess what? I threw the box for that away too!
Again, thanks to everyone for the helpful replies. And since I think I typed this paragraph without extra letters, I hope they don't test this keyboard in store, for the moment, it seems to be working fine :/

My Logitech wireless mouse started playing up recently. (Single clicks would sometimes register as double clicks - annoying when doing the weekly food shop online! :rotfl: ) A bit of "percussive maintenance" seems to have cured it. ;)
