Think my email account has been hacked - can anyone help

Options
Hi

About an hour ago an email was sent from my email account to all of my contacts. It was the usual spam like email encouraging people to open a link in the email.

I've warned people in my address book and have just changed the password on my email account.

But do I need to do anything else? Any advice on whether this has likely been caused by my email account being hacked or perhaps a virus on my computer or mobile phone (which I also use to access my emails).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you need to change the password, and run a full virus scan on your computer using something like malwarebytes, I doubt you will have a virus on the mobile phone (what OS is it?) so it may be a good idea to change the password of the email on the mobile (on the emails website) as that would be a 'known clean' device.
