Just wondering on if you have had a Vanquis card does the limit you hold have a impact on your chances of getting a mainstrem card?
I am going up to £1750 from £1000.
If you have transfered from Vanquis to another what was your limit?
as many as I started on £250

Well, I assume it will appear on your credit report that you have access to this credit, so it would look better, yes. If you have no defaults/etc on your history then it will increase the chance of you being accepted.0

It's always a toss up to be honest.
The larger your available credit the less you might be granted elsewhere, but conversely the lower your balance to limit ratio is the less of a risk you represent.
I.e. owing £500 against a £2,000 limit looks much better than owing £500 against a £750 limit - the latter would leave you looking "debt stressed".
Vanquis don't offer rediculous limits so unless you're on a very small income and / or have a lot of credit elsewhere, their limits won't negatively effect your credit.
If however you had a few mainstream cards with cumulative limits of £20,000 against a £25,000 income, you'd potentially represent quite a risk to a prospective creditor even if you didn't owe much.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
