I have tried to change my password on my paypal account, but have to contact them as I didn't register a home phone with them.....done that and because I don't have a number for them to contact me on I can't change the password!!!!! She advised me to close the account and then open another one!!!
How stupid, I understand about fraud etc but I have ran my account for two years and no problems so I am hardly high risk. I can provide all the security in fo they want but hey no, not good enough I need to let them ring me!!!!
Crazy

What is crazy about that. It is a tried and tested security check.
Do you not have a phone number to register for them to use?0 -

At the point of registration no, but as I do now.......in order for me to register a phone number they have to ring me on the number I used when registering (which is difficult as there no number on file!!)....see what I mean....going round in circles....that is the crazy part.
You haven't always had to do that to change your password I have done it twice in the past (makes good security measures) but this is the first time this has happened!!
Not to worry I will just close the account:heartpuls Number 1 Aunty Gok fan :heartpuls0 -
Emmy, I understand now.
Yes, it is crazy.:D0 -
That is crazy!
I had a similar thing when I got married. I wanted to change the name on my account so it would be in line with my bank account for transferrals etc, and they wanted to see bank statements, credit card bills, a valid driving licence (I don't even have one!) all faxed to the USA. I wasn't willing to comply so I emailed their customer service and they said 'just open a new account' which I eventually did. But why all the hassle to change your new name if they let you open a new account in any name you like with no checking anyway?:www: :: MFi3 ::
