Following recent service affecting faults by my ISP my Windows Mail account is asking for a user name and password. Although I have these written down they don't seem to be working. I can access my mail via my Virgin account but not my address book etc.
Could anyone kindly advise a solution to this or point me in the direction of any relevent threads please?

Do you use Windows Live Mail on your computer?
If so, if you can get into it, you can save the account settings to a file (I think it's an .iaf file), and then there's a website I found for decoding it that will reveal your password. The site is here and allows you to upload the .iaf file from your computer and it'll find out the settings for you, including your details.
It should work for any .iaf file by the way, not just the one for your Windows Mail account.0 -
My Windows Mail does this periodically. I have to go back into the account properties and re-tick the "My server requires authentication" box, then it accepts my user name/password again. No idea why it does this every now and then.0
