Real time push email on non smartphone

Options
Hi, I'm trying to find a mobile I can receive emails on but the more I look at the push email thing the more confused I seem to get.

I don't know if I'm asking for "the moon on a stick" but I'd like to buy a phone on PAYG with data included so I can recieve emails without having to get a smartphone and charge it up all the time.

If anyone could recommend a phone and perhaps a network I'd be eternally grateful.

ton's of PAYG phones will do email and push email at that, none with include free data you have to pay for it usually £5 a month.

before I can give you recommendations, what email accounts are you going to use on it (eg hotmail, gmail?) and what price are you looking to spend on the phone?

thanks for your reply, ideally I'd like to spend around £50 on the phone and spend £10 - £15 per month on calls and data.

It would be good to use yahoo but it's not essential, I've started a small business selling records on ebay and can change the email on the account, I also advertise for records wanted on gumtree etc, if I can tie all that into a couple or one email account it would make life a lot easier, no more checking ebay for late payers and all that.

Also, and not to labour the point but the email needs to be received in real time. If I can get that I can do buy it nows and responds quickly to messages sent after sales etc.

    ok,

well yahoo email doesn't do push email only imap which means you would only get email when the phone checks the account which you can define like every 15mins, gmail and hotmail are the best one to go for for push.

an example mobile phone is the SE X8 on 3 (obviously depends on the signal you get on 3) it is an android phone so will work best with a gmail account, and will also sync your contacts and calendar with gmail, you can as many email accounts as you like, to get push email for hotmail you have to set it up as an exchange account

there's also the Samsung Galaxy Mini also an android phone, no idea what the battery life is on either but both should see you through a day at least.

in that case you definitely want a gmail or a hotmail email account, if you get an android phone gmail is definitely the better option over hotmail.
