I was asked to ask on here if it is possible to get a new sat nav which has bluetooth and Ireland, UK and Europe maps on it and costs less than £100? If so, what make or model is it?

I think you will struggle to get one brand new especially with that list of wants. You maybe able to find a good refurb one though but personally I would look at a used tomtom for that spec list.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Plenty do, have you tried Halfords?
When you say bluetooth , do you mean for handsfree or to pair with a mobile phone?

Do you currently own a smartphone, if so what kind?

A windscreen mount and (if necessary) appropriate software may be the best way to approach this.

I didn't look anywhere except Garmin's website and Amazon. Amazon had too many for someone like me who knows nothing about it so I thought if I asked on here, like I was asked to, someone would know a lot more and be able to advise!

Oh they didn't say what they wanted bluetooth for. Will bluetooth not do both things?

Even so, if they do have a smartphone, it still might be worth looking in to, as satnav apps do have some advantages - no seperate satnav to get stolen, cheaper than a satnav, and depending on which one you get the maps get updated for free (TomTom has this).

I've got TomTom Western Europe on my iPhone, that's currently £59.99, if you want all of Europe that's £79.99. It's a universal app which means it works on my iPad too, I really can't see the point of an iPad sized satnav though!

They are buying it as a Christmas present! I will let them know what you and everyone else on here has said though!

I've started using my android phone as a satnav, it downloads maps in real time via Google maps. Set the destination, download the directions/map via your home wifi, mount it in it's cradle, connect its charger cable (else the battery won't last more than 1 hour) and away you go :)

That's all I do these days too. I used to have a dedicated satnav unit, then I had a custom built Car PC, now I just use a bluetooth headunit and the phone on a windscreen mount. As a bonus it means that the volume of my music is automatically lowered when it's giving voice directions.
