Hi,
Im a single parent working 16hrs a week on minimum wage,my son gets high rate care disability living allowance. Ive recently applied for carers allowance which i got. but im now worried that im not entitled to it cause i work? ive not informed tax credits yet just incase its wrong. Would any of the benefit experts on here be able to tell me if this is correct? I get £195.00 per week tax credits but this has the severe disability premium on it.
Thanks For all your help

You need to let WTC know NOW as carers allowance count as income and may reduce your WTC now.0

carers allowance counts as income for tax credit purposes. Be sure to get everything in writing from tax credits people as they have a habit of biting you on the bum when you least expect it. We are paying back an overpayment to them at the moment.life is what you make it, make it fun !0
