See the BT master plan is working, pushing everybody who stays with them in the direction of all inclusive plans and off the basic line rental deal..

New line rental £14.60 pm,+ all call costs, or pay £14.90 by paying 1 year rental in advance (£10 pm) and £4.90 pm for inclusive calls.....so the difference is only £0.30 pm.

equivelent Primus deal.. £2.79 + £10 + £2.5 = £15.29 pm

So its begining to seem like it doesnt matter who you are with, the deals will be roughly the same, reducing the need for CPS call providers and 18185. Probably the BT plan from the start.

Cannot quite see your maths there, pay line rental in advance £10 plus inclusive calls £4.90 = £14.90

Pay monthly line rental £14.60 plus inclusive calls £4.90 = £19.50

Difference is £4.60 and I would not recommend Primus after the billing problems I had with them.

Take your point, have added "+ all call costs" to post. the main point is by their pricing policy they are pushing people onto all inclusive deals.

BT were restricted by OFCOM and OFTEL before it, in what they could offer to consumers, in effect the regulator made BT be uncompetative to give companys like TT and Sky a easy entry into the market, now BT has far fewer retail customers, they can offer 'deals' that would have been deemed anti competative, because thier market share is a lot less than it once was, and OFCOM cannot intervene in a market where competition is deemed to be established, I dont think this was a 'master plan' its a consequence of the regulator having an aim of reducing BT's market share to less than 60 %.if the regulator auctually used its powers with mobile companys and stopped them charging high termination rates from landlines, then 'inclusive' packages would be even better as they could include calls to mobile networks as well as 01.02.03 numbers

BT are apparently already developing an all-inclusive package which will include mobile calls.
