"Complete Savings" scheme

It seems a lot of people commenting have one 1 or 2 posts in this thread so thought I would add my 2 pence worth. I have signed up for the 30 day trial after purchasing at the train line and play.com before, sent my receipts off to them, had confirmation I would receive a cheque, then logged in and cancelled account before 30 days are up and never been charged. As anything if you intend to cancel ensure you do it before the free period is up like you would when getting a free credit rating report for instance. I cant comment on the ongoing benefits from them as to me they seemed similar to Quidco and TCB so didn't see the point in paying for a similar service I was already getting for free.0

Well the difference is the amounts. Quidco is typically 3% cashback but SDR give 10% including high street names. I also save £20 per month on gift vouchers I can buy at 20% discount and my £10 fee is cancelled out with my £10 monthlybonus I get at pizza hut so it doesn't cost anything0 -
I joined complete savings in May - having read the small print - and am absolutely delighted. I've had £35 back in July alone and another £12 to come. Customer services are excellent and I'll continue to subscribe until I don't cover the monthly fee. Well worth it!

I just purchased something from TheHut.com and was then asked whether I wanted to join the "Complete Savings" scheme. I've never heard of them before.
It also says in the fine print that Complete Savings is owned and operated by the Webloyalty group of companies.
I was briefly tempted to do the sign up and cancel before the 30 days is up, but reading the fine print, it seems a faff to actually claim the cash back (sending off a sales receipt) and so like most cash back schemes, doubtful as to whether you actually get the cash back. So I decided not to risk it, as sometimes these things can be difficult to cancel and enough people already have my card details!
Has anyone else heard of this scheme? Reading t'internet they seem to have some bad press, but it is mostly in the States. Scam? Genuine cashback scheme? :undecided

More detail please. Why did you contact Barclays and why did they tell you to contact the police ?0 -

Well as a happy customer of webloyalty, if they need any witnesses in their defence I will happily stand up.to testify that they do indeed provide good value for people who can and do read plain English in the contracts that they sign!0 -
I have just had the great misfortune of joining this company back in May after making a purchase on Play.com when all the terms and conditions (including having to allegedly make a second purchase to qualify for a £15 cashback cheque) are only visible online and you do not have a copy of these posted/emailed to you for reference. Despite emailing them proof of purchase asking for the cashback, they never replied in June. Upon cancelling one month later and receiving a letter from them several days afterwards confirming cancellation of my membeship, I then discovered that they were still automatically debiting (2x £10) from my bank account so have just phoned up to complain and have received a cancellation email stating that I will be refunded my £20 in 10 days. I've been told that since I've now cancelled my membership, I will now no longer be eligible for the £15 cheque. [Text removed by MSE Forum Team]0

EXCEPT that they are supposed to honour the £15 cheque even if you cancel (I looked for that clause specifically when I signed up yesterday (hence my researching them further today!)). I'd suggest giving their freephone number a quick call and arguing for a minute.
I'm going to place my order and then cancel my membership within a few days, to be safe. From what I can gather, as they can't open email attachments, I just forward my TheHut sales confirmation email along with an embedded copy of my voucher? Or do two separate emails? If anyone who's done this could spare a few secs to make it completely clear, I'd be most grateful. :AQ: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
I read the terms very carefully, followed the rules, did the deal 3 times with 3 different cardholders in the house - cancelled each one before the 30 days, ended up with over £100 of free goods from play.com and over £10 in cash back (real money by cheque) to boot - so I spent minus £10 by the end. I made sure my 30 days started just before the end of a month. I could then do 3 qualifying transactions (the 1 for £15 and 2 for £10) over the course of about a week, leaving me about 3 weeks to see all the cashback return. I was still getting cheques as cash back cleared after my cancellations. My only gripe was that once you cancel you cannot log in any more to see the cashback processing - but I just emailed them with my (cancelled) member number and got a very quick and informative reply. If everyone did what I did I am sure they would have shut shop long ago. I just tried to do it again but think Play.com may have pulled out because no pop up invite. Pity.0

Saw this post after my post of tonight - suggest you read mine in full - if you cancel after a couple of days you will be missing a trick! The play.com emails confirming my purchases were enough for me every time with complete savings, I never had to scan a delivery note or anything. However, I suggest leaving a day between the first purchase that triggered the joining offer and the next couple of purchases qualifying for cashback because I managed to confuse them with too much happening on the registration day. Sorted in the end but they started to put the purchases in the wrong order for the different rewards. Playing it safe I always bought one item for £10 (or just over) when going after the £10 monthly reward as I never read anything that made it clear whether I could bundle a few things together to make up my £10. Good Luck - don't forget to cancel! - I set my password to "CancelByxxxx" so that everytime I logged in I reminded myself how long I had left to go.0
