Hi,
My husband has lots (around 200!!) old football programmes from the late 80's/early 90's. Ebay doesn't seem to be a viable option for selling them, I was just wondering if anyone knew any places that would maybe buy them all from us?
I would happily bin them all, but he's a bit emotionally attached, bless im!!:D
Thanks

To be honest, there really isn't much of a market for them. Even rare ones like the 'Colchester Utd v. Leeds Utd F.A.Cup 1972' only sell for a couple of quid.
The most expensive programs still go for less than a tenner.Never Knowingly Understood.

car boot sale is probably your best bet, but don't expect much for them. they were mass produced from about the 60s onwards, to such an extent that only stuff from before 1960 is really worth anything, and even then it's not much. only wartime and before are valuable, since most of them were destroyed so they're now quite rare.0

Any Cardiff city/ Swansea/ Newport friendlies amongst them?As surely as night follows day capitalism will come crumbling down. On a mission to secure a just and ethical society.0

Thanks to all for replying. I'm not really bothered what we get for them. Hubby wants to sell out of principle I think, me I'm not bothered
. Would rather have the space!

I wish i kept all my old programmes, i started to go the match in the mid 60s, the programmes were 3d and 4d to buy but must be worth a packet now.
I don't think you should go a boot sale, you'll find out later hust how much you could have got.
On our local radio, a phone-in guest once a week ia an antiques expert, from an auction house and you'd be surprised at some of estimates he gives out.
Look in the phone book for auction houses around Leeds, or phone Radio Merseyside the Billy Butler show when this guy is on, the most important thing with all collectibles are ........ are they in good condition.
They were talking this morning about how things weren't always worth more just 'cos they were old, he gave a couple of examples of things he'd recently sold, The first a small collection of Roman coins in pristine condition, dating back to period of Hadrians wall and they sold for a couple of hundred pounds; next item was a small collection of football programmes, i think he said from the 40s which fetched thousands.

I've not read all that but think you can type in the teams you've got.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Tell him you'll put him on ebay and then just chuck them in the bin. Then give him £20 next week. 10p a program is about right.0

I've been selling off my old programmes from the lat 60's on ebay
i list about 20 a week and sell about 4...
i've been selling them for £1.50 with free P&P, so with ebay/paypal/postage fee's i make about 60p per programme.
its not going to make me rich.... but i get some satisfaction that the programmes are going to a good home.0 -

Wait for a free listings day on Ebay and stick them up, you never know what someone might be looking for. There are people out there that collect programmes and even old ticket stubs - supposing you only get a couple of quid in the long run, still better than just throwing them away!November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!
