you mean with the clothes?? should i just chuck em you think... its nearly close to £150 worth of clothes.... :/

YES. Chuck them away do not give to charity shop and put another child at risk.

All the recommends to wash with this that of the other..all of them will leave trace of chemical in items and baby will inhale it all.

Frequents maternal side coming out here.

buy new from shop, wash new stuff at highest temp item can withstand, no washing powder or comfort.

hang outside in fresh air to dry, do not iron at all much less with any of those iron additives, they have chemicals to.

goes into basement behind sofa, ladies ?
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

if i manage to get rid of the smell off the clothes - does that mean that the germs would have gone too?? - i usually wash all the new baby clothes first before putting them on - but just worried about the germs etc.....

tottally scrubbed the house now, and the smellseems to have gone... and the clothes are on the 3rd wash... and the smell seems to have gone..... but dunno if they will be safe..... the Moses basket still stinks and i cant really use harsh chemicals on it either.....

Don't worry, the germs will def have been killed off by a hot wash - 40C is recommended for reusable nappies, and after all it's the same kind of thing...just from an animal iykwim.
One should always wash new clothes before wearing them, even more so for babies. New clothes are treated with chemicals like formaldehyde to help prevent creasing, you wouldn't want that against your skin!
As for the basket, get some laundry vinegar or use diluted white vinegar (about a pound odds in Savers) and try spraying the basket with that. Then blot, leave to dry in the sun (if you have any) and keep repeating...worth a try and the vinegar is totally natural. If you can remove the lining, wash that as with the clothes.

I'm sure there will be someone with better knowhow than me on this forum, so maybe do a quick search and see what comes up?
