Hi guys, don't have time to post often but wanted to say stand your ground when trying for DTD on Celebrations/Heroes.

Just spent half an hour arguing all the tricks in the book but I won in the end!

First CS assistant says not valid as leaflet says 'offers subject to change,' ask to see manager, she agrees and says no DTD. Ask to call HO, first guy says offer has ended, point out date on leaflet, then says 'selected stores' so I ask him for a list of which stores are taking part in the promotion - no answer. Then asks if I have seen the £5 advertised in store anywhere - yes in the bl**dy leaflets I reply! He says, the leaflets don't count - printing problem, not my problem I reply. Ask to speak to his supervisor, he says he is the CS manager, go round in circles for 10 mins then goes quiet. Next thing I know a lovely lady comes on the phone, I explain the situation briefly and she instantly agrees DTD should be paid, informs the manager and apologies for my trouble.

    2 free tubs of choccies! Tesco - 0, Soos -1 :j

Moral of the story - don't back down! I'm sure free choccie will taste so much better, thanks Mr T!

Btw, Shrews**ry store still has loads of 34p DM :)
  • Managed to get 5 tubs of celebrations and got DTD on them, the OH well impressed but thinks they might ban me from the shop! I did have to stand my ground and they did take my brochure off me, good job I have got several. The lady behind me at CS had bought some Quality street that was priced at £5 but scanned at £10 she was pleased to hear that she would get them for free and said to me I had been 'lucky' to have bought 5 and got them free :)
I am not sure if it will work but I have put them on price check and am hopeful that I will get JTD on them as well.
    Love this site.
Thanks to everyone who contributes - you are amazing!!!!
If it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:
  • Also just got dtd on celebrations. Can you also do jtd?

On Steve Wright in the Afternoon show Radio 2 TODAY he was talking to co-presenter Tim Smith of a glitch on the 3 for 2 deals where one item is returned at the full price.
Apparently Tesco are aware and receipts in future will (maybe) mention no refunds on deals.

PMSL even Tesco won't get that kind of pap past trading standards!!

Deals or no deals we have statutory rights, Tesco would do well to remember that.
  • Can someone please PM me with Phillip Clarks email address???? please xxx
  • so jealousy of everybody getting their celebrations and heroes scanning at £10!!! I think i will have to check in tomorrow morning to try again.
