So very sorry to hear your sad news, my baby - "Benson" died two years ago, and even though we now have another dog, i still look for Benson every time i walk in the door - he was such a big part of our lifes, and made an impression on so many people, he was a gurt great big Rottie - and from the first day i bought him home he was loved by everyone - we use to have a pub and all the regulars and their kids loved him he was just so gentle and sweet, as he got older he would lie on the door step of the pub on the main road and if he saw people he knew if they tried to walk past without coming in he would follow them up the road - so 9 out of 10 times they would end up in the pub or else he would follow them all the way home or to where ever they were going . He use to play pool - picking the balls up in his mouth and chucking them around the table until they went in. When we had skittle matches he would be the ball boy and pick all the balls up in his mouth (one at a time) and take them back up to the top to the players. And the best bit of all we use to have a lovely old lady who used to come in to the pub every day for a half a bitter and a brandy, but on mondays and thursdays she always bought in left over meat and chicken from her dinner the day before and Benson would walk down to her house approx half a mile away and walk back with her with a carrier bag in his mouth with his goodies in, it all started one day when her lift didn't turn up to take her home so Benson and i walked down the road with her and he obviously remembered and started making his own way down there, and god help anyone who ever went near her when she was in the pub - he would sit by her feet and not move but give a little growl if anyone got to close - looking back maybe not such a good thing, but i think he was trying to protect his feeder!!

Sorry for rattling on but im sure you know where im coming from. It does get easier as time goes by but i have some fantastic memories of
Benson and im sure you also have some great ones of your wee dog also.

Big hugs to you and if you need someone to talk to give me a shout anytime xxxxxxx

He sounds like he was one amazing dog;)

Mona Lisa, I'm sorry to hear of the sad loss of your dog, I lost my cat Lady almost a year ago and I'm still not over it, so I completely understand what you must be going through.

So, I leave other Babyliss set at till and go to CS, to make a complaint about trout.

While I am in queue, the manager that trout spoke to, comes along with the 2 Babyliss sets in his hands, looking for me. He couldn't have been nicer. He said that it was fine to buy them at £1.50 each, apologised for keeping me waiting, said that trout had also been rude to him and apologised for her behaviour and said she would be spoken to this afternoon.

So, I went back to till and made sure trout saw me buying my 2 £1.50 Babyliss sets! :j

This is why I never plan to do any DTDs at my extra, I get so depressed by the staff in that place that I never want to speak to any of them if I can avoid it, customer services in my local store have no business calling themselves that!
I managed to find the DM choc today at W*stw**d Cr*ss:j - only took one bar as I wasn't too sure I'd got the right one as the SEL said £1 but it was 120g. Went through at 34p!!

Would you be able to post the barcode please? :D

LMAO! TBH my local Tescos (plural) are really bad at displaying POS offers, so it could still have been on in my local, I wouldn't have a clue!

  • warning if anyone goes to the tescos in stockport do not buy the kp dry roasted peanuts that are 22p a bag as they are out of date!!!!! i bought a few bags the other day tried to take them back yesterday and they said we cant prove that these are the bags you bought the other day told them to check the other bags that were left as there were loads still there out of date they said they were to busy to check so i asked for HO and the customer service number they wouldnt give it to me can anyone help with the free phone number please TIA

Sorry but I think you let them fob you off far too easily! They ARE CS and it IS there job to go and check and they are also way out of order for not supplying you the HO number. Cheeky blighters were taking the p*ss and if it were me I'd be having tea and biscuits with the store manager right now as he/she tried to placate me! ;)
  • Looks like chicken is the new turkey:

Got DTD today on chicken breast. For the past week or so the healthy living diced chicken breast has been on offer at half price, the packs are price marked and stickered at half price. Picked a few up today but they scanned at full price £3.77 per pack. So DTD = free chicken. The expiry date on the chicken I bought is 2nd December so there should be a lot of these price marked packs still available in other stores.

Went to R0ne0 C0rner today and found 3 trays and also 2 of the Babyliss Power Glide Pro sets.

Went to self scan. Scanned first Babyliss set - £1.50, and screen said assistance required. Trout came over and said that price can't be right, I'll have to get it checked.

I quickly sent OH away with trays to pay at another till, as was sure that she wouldn't let those go through.

Trout goes to 5 items or less till and checks price of babyliss, and shakes her head and goes away. A few minutes later, she comes back and goes up to (what turns out to be a manager), and speaks to him. Things get heated and she slams Babyliss set down in front of him. He then picks it up and goes away.

Trout comes back with face like thunder, but doesn't say anything to me.

    After another 5 mins:

Me: Is he checking this item for me?

Trout: Who knows? he is a man with an attitude! He won't sell it to you at that price anyway.

    Me: Why not?

Trout: Price is obviously wrong, so he won't sell it to you.

Me: Could you not have told me that before? You have seen me standing here for 15 minutes?

    Trout: I did tell you.

Me: No you didn't. You said, that you would have to check.

Trout: I'm not arguing with you!

So, I leave other Babyliss set at till and go to CS, to make a complaint about trout.

Well done you! Theres no excuse for rude behaviour and bad manners from staff like that. Might be worth you following it up by going to said trout again to see how she treats you.

Firstly, I apologise if this has been posted, I have just burned rubber to get back here and post this!

Overheard conversation between houseware/electrical manager and customer at 'normal' Tesco. Customer talking about something he was lucky enough to get cheaper, when manager tells him 'well, I've had to phone up this afternoon about a TV going through at the wrong price. There is a TV on offer at £500 and has an offer on for £150 off, however, it is going through at £150 ....

Sorry no more details, but for anyone near a Tesco, it has got to be worth a trip out, but be quick. If it is anything like the speed it took them to sort the chocolate orange glitch, someone should get lucky.

    Good luck.

Been having a look on the T's website and these are the ones so far I've found around £500 with £150 off

Could it be one of these?! As Nikkilala says I ain't going to start dragging TV's to the self scanner :rotfl::rotfl:

Just remembered as well a comment about blue ray 3D so have been on Tesco website, and I think it must be this:

Technik 3d TV, free phillips blue ray player and bundle offer, 42" screen with £150 off, at £500.

It is apparently going through the till at £149.97.

Sorry cant be more exact. Hope someone gets lucky,

I had my nose about 2cms from the screen trying to find it! :rotfl:
Think I got it though ;)
