  • Talking of customer service, I have had a variety of experiences with ringing or e-mailling which seem to go against when I have read on here.

Last week I asked for a copy invoice as I had bought some gifts for different people and thought that it would be better to give them an invoice incase they wanted to change/refund. I asked 2 days after the transaction. When they phoned me back was told they do not issue duplicate invoices.

At the weekend I asked in store for a rain check voucher for the selection boxes. i got one for Nestle but she could not give me one for the Cadbury stockings as not on the computer. I e-mailled a query to head office. When they rang me they said that Tescos no longer issue rain check vouchers. When I said yes they do I got one on a different offer was fobbed off really. Managers discretion, only if they think stock will be replenished within the timeframe of the offer...

I have an item to return which I got DTD on. Not sure if they will accept it and what I would get back or do I just say lost receipt can I exchange it. Was going to ring CS again but think you guys know Tesco's policy better than their own staff!!!

The thing is, its because they are so useless at organishing stuff and all singing from the same hymn sheet that gives us the opportunity to do what we do, so its a case of grin and bear it sometimes.

Take your item back, you are entitled to what you paid for it, although usually you will get whatever their wand says it costs when wafted over the barcode.

They took sel down about 1130 so i can text you pic if you like!

Must have been bit earlier than that as I didn't see you at CS as I walked in (as know I would have noticed that many toilet rolls in a trolley;)) and went straight there to no SEL, wandered a bit and then saw you on my way out. Shame I did not get there same time as you. There is hope yet that stores are still putting out SELs if they did it while you were there.
  • Dunno if it's been mentioned before but Tesco's own brand, head & shoulders type, anti dandruff shampoo is reduced to 34p. Its on the SEL's I think they are rebranding the bottles. In my store it was the normal/greasy & the citrus ones, but I imagine the others will be reduced eventually or maybe even now but none of the scanners work in the store so I didn't buy any of the others. Its the 300ml bottles & I have used it for years & its easily as good as the real deal head & shoulders.
  • YES, YES, YES - my first DTDs today - Got four packs of the walkers crisps and four packs of the Andrex toilet paper - Got £13 DTD so paid 80p for all of them. I love you MSE lol

I also picked up a Disney Princess Heart shaped art set for £1. No SEL but others similar are priced at £4-£8. I noticed that one had a sticker over the bar code, one had a broken zip and one had no sticker. I took the one without a sticker and was quite happy with the price ;-).

I checked some of the wine that had OOD SELs but they all scanned at the same price as the SEL. Will check again in a day or two and report back if I find anything.

Bevers, thanks for the heads up on the whiskey, will check on it when I am at Ts next.

While I was at CS today there was a lady who seemed quite experienced in getting DTD. I did not ask if they were a friend of Martin's as we were in front of the CS staff. However, if you are on here, it was lovely to meet you.

    Hi debs,

No hot tips I'm afraid. Fl33tsbridge are on and off getting stock in of the 1p leaf trays and toy story bags. If you want cheap nuts it's a trip to Bournemouth unless you want spicy ones! ;)

Thank you. I've just finished a night shift, so I needed something good to tempt me away from the sofa!

  • Also, while I was in there SA took a 1p SEL off some wine glasses, waved it at her colleague & said "look what some idiots done, their gonna be in bother when we find out who it was" she took that one away but its possible the same error may have occured elsewhere so check the SELs near wineglasses.
No other glitches available, really wanted illooms for DS's 5th birthday party on Saturday, so if anyone finds any in Leeds area please let me know.
