On about the army, I used to have a squaddie adoptee, they had a list of what you could and couldnt send http://www.adoptasquaddie.co.uk/#/downloads/4555347498
Its the last download, it may give those who needed help some ideas
i know you can send Christmas cards to injured soldiers... does anyone know where i might find some information on this? would love to cheer one upmicabenson wrote: »ok folks just back from t's..
whilst at the self serve getting my goodies, a lady on the next ss called the assistant over to say ' This soup is £1 on shelf and it has scanned at £2.10.. she adjusted the price at till and didnt go to get sel
Yes I thought the same as the rest of you.....free soup and 10p..
It was the New York Soup Company 600g tomato and smoked paprika ... on the shelf with fresh soups..
enjoy!
bought this soup today, just because i fancied soup but it scanned £1 here. i was none the wiser!Found empty shelf of Summer SecureSleep Monitor last week, SEL £12 bc ends 7110 but there is one there yesterday. I'm waiting for them to reduced a video one.
Found lonely pair of T35C0 Binoculars. The really nice bike making guy told me they are 89p reduced from about £10. bc end 6133. Gone now.
:A Bike guy :A even told me about the 75p tents but shelf was empty & was then told about the £1 football. Told him i play regularly and would prefer to pay the extra for a decent football. But he wouldnt have any of it....he grabbed a pump and pumped up one of the footballs. Had a wee kickabout in the store so i caved in cos he was really nice and insisted i take one. Ball is ok & at £1 is excellent value.
i'm currently using the summer video and temperature monitor with my DS. got it a few weeks back. SEL was £99.97, scanned at £24!!!!
anyway... picked up the Royal Worcester glasses with coupons, and a bottle of 1/2 price Baileys. will do my ex's mum great for xmas!! nothing else to declare from me thoughHeart Diseased, Chronic Fatigued mum of 3 under 4!0 -
Actually, that has got me thinking about someone in my family who has gone for the first time - does anyone know when the last date for sending stuff is? Or am I too late?
The last date for Christmas is early Dec (10th rings a bell). The last date for sending via the charity is earlier ( so as not to interfere with the more important family stuff).i know you can send Christmas cards to injured soldiers... does anyone know where i might find some information on this? would love to cheer one up
There has been something that sent around Facebook every year, asking for cards to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Selly Oak), and also Headley Court. However, in reality, despite being a lovely thought which means thousands of cards get sent, each card has to be checked (there are some horrible people out there), and this takes the welfare staff away from the important jobs that they are meant to do.
if you do want to Do something, and its great that you do (sorry it sounds like i'm p*ssing on your parade :S) lol, please have a look at the different charities, Help for Heroes and Royal British Legion, looks after the guys when they come back home, Support our Soldiers look after the boys and their families while theyre out there

Being on active duty as a serviceman in a war zone is different to just doing a job, God bless them all and speed them home.
It was the drivle about having to praise the police, firemen, doctors and even the coastguards. We might as well praise teachers aswell there's a fair chance they could get stabbed. Why stop at teachers we could go on for ever.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -

Gosh it's quiet in here tonight, normally i spend all night playing catch up lol
Going to take this opportunity to have an early night in the hope there are lots of bargains around tomorrow but before I go I just wanted to say a big thank you to Nikkilala :A I recieved a lovely parcel today:T you really didn't need to, but it was most gratefully received
You are welcome, one good turn deserves another;)just a thought for us to sleep on. as one stops are a part of tesco, has anyone ever tried an express glitch in there.
nikkilala in your speed reading of the 2 days you were pre occupied, you may have missed a good idea from arthur. that is to only post the last four digits of a BC as this is enough for us to identify an item but not enough info for te5c0 to locate an item quickly.
and a big well done for staying of the cigs at the party. glad your back and things have calmed down again. how could you have signed out when you only had 1 post to go for your 3000th.
I did comment that I thought it was a good idea, or maybe I dreamt that I did:(But anyway, very good idea idea I think:T
And I didnt realise that I was 1 post away from 3,000 so here goes:p
Day 16 of Nikkilala's non smoking journey and can honestly say yesterday I had no craving for a cigarette at all and yesterday had a doctors appt for tennis elbow, more likely caused by too much use of the computer mouse;), and I very proudly told him I didnt smoke. Now that felt good:T:T
And Good morning everyone:)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
