Thank you for sharing that, will admit i've put foot in mouth a few times, working in social housing means meeting all races and religions in their homes, also means treating their beliefs and traditions with the same respect that i'd expect to be shown to mine.
Sometime's I see kids being raised in squalid conditions and try best to get the housing officers to open pockets a bit more to do more work than is on the list ( me n the guys do what they say no to for free anyway).

thats really good of you that you do some of the work for free. I know some of the houses i have been in have not been the nicest in the world (i was in social care until i was signed off )
im not sure if you thought you had put your foot in it there, but honestly you hadnt. we still have a tree (but it symbolises something different) we still have decorations (again they symbolise something different) the only thing thats really different is i dont do a turkey and I light candles and (kind of) pray to a different god.0 -
I notice this thread has become a bit more quiet now that the big bargains are fewer...tbh I'm kinda relieved, it has become very time consuming catching up of late! Still loving the friendly (and sometimes random) chat though. No doubt the next big topic (ie. gLiiiiITch!!) is just around the corner, so enjoy catching your breath before the next lap everyone!0

Shall we sit here all night and praise every single profession? They do a job they get paid for it nobody goes in with their eyes closed about what exactly their job entails.
No, just the one's that take alot of b0ll0xs to be brave enough to do.
Yesterday 4 police officers were stabbed in Kingsbury trying to disarm a nutter with a butchers knife, all in the hozi, i'd say that they deserve much respect for their bravery and every penny they get for doing the job that most are not up for.
Choice 1 pay a footballer 250k a week for chasing a bag of air
Choice 2 pay a surgeon 250k a week for saving people lives
Choice 3 your choiceBack to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

and where would we be if they didnt do those jobs??....putting your life on the line to save others, spending 10 years + studying to learn how to treat sick people can hardly be compared to scanning potatoes at a checkout now can it?.....or can it???
Not devaluing retail workers, they too take a lot of flack, but the chances of coming home at the end of the shift are slightly higher and if thye make a mistake and overcharge someone, or tell them they are not entitled to dtd when they are, no one will die as a result, or end up with a criminal record for something they didnt do etc etc0 -

Being on active duty as a serviceman in a war zone is different to just doing a job, God bless them all and speed them home.0
