Speeding?!
Options
Please help! I was travelling over to Fife today from Edinburgh. I was doing the speed limit when going under Newbridge roundabout and then I speeded up to national speed limit. However, I am an idiot! I only realised once I was almost at the first sliproad that there were signs saying 40mph :-(. What I was wondering is if there are any average speed limit cameras fitted on that stretch or as far as the Forth Road Bridge? I know there are cameras once over to Fife, but am hopeful that the cameras are yet to be fitted on south side? Have googled it and can see that there are plans to have cameras fitted to south side but with no date.
Help please! I drive in my job so am scared that I will get points on my licence. (in my defence my daughter was suddenly violently sick in back of car. I know, no excuse for speeding though)
thanks everyone

thanks everyone. Will keep my fingers crossed. Going over that way again tomorrow so will have a good look for cameras along the stretch that I was speeding..... Lesson learned!!!!0

If there are speed enforcement cameras of any kind, there have to be plenty of signs warning you of them - and the average ones normally have an "average speed check" sign or similar...if you didn't see this, I'd imagine you're fine.0

I noticed that there were some new cameras erected over the last couple of days but when I passed it has been too dark to see exactly what they are. Does anyone know if they are average speed cameras or not? There is no signage yet.
Thanks.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -
Hi, when I looked on Tuesday I didn't see any cameras either going north to Fife, or after the bridge heading south to Newbridge, though there were plenty of 40mph signs. No signs regarding cameras either, but I do know that they are planning on putting in average speed cameras like they have north of the bridge. Adds so much time to journey it must be awful doing the daily commute :-(0
