N Power

excuse the waffle;)
I have just been comparing my tariffs on one of the comparison sites, I am currently with N Power standard and it says N power sign on line is cheaper?
its says i can save £148 per year :j
looking at the tariffs the first 1143 kw of gas per quarter is 4.244p on sign on line then 2.286p thereafter
standard is 4.633p first and 2.617 p therafter
Electric is 15.330p for first 182kw and 7.886p thereafter (signon line)
and 16.740p " " " " " " " 8.660p " " " standard
now how can i save so much???it seems odd to me at present they are taking £64 per month gas and £55.50 Electricity
Also if true do you know if i can change from standard to sign on line?
need to know also if i would loose my dual fuel discount due to change?

There have been a few threads on the forum from existing nPower customers regarding the sol tariff - you can't switch to sol if you are an existing customer, you would have to switch away and switch back again. There are also reports that after a few months the rates are increased and a brand spanking new sol tariff brought out (currently they are on the 7th), which as before is new customers only.
My advice would be to go back to the switching site and go for the next cheapest.0 -
thanks for that, after i posted message i did a search and noticed a thread (should have dont that first really)
Atlantic power came out with a saving of about £80 + PA, mind you i will now wait at the moment as i will loose my duel fuel discount if i change, i will wait until that has been paid and them leave, great loyalty isn't it ...NOT....0 -
is N-power sign online the cheapest around right now or is ebico cheapest.
Also do I have to give notice to Biritsh Gas to swich supplier - what determines the timing of a switch.
Thanks.0 -
I'm just in the process of moving to n power and have been quoted for:
gas 4.042p up to the first 4572 kwh per year and 2.177p thereafter
electric 18.27p day unit up to the first 182kwh per quarter and 8.06p thereafter. night rate is 3.46p. (I'm on E7)
No standing charge with either.0 -
You don't need to give notice to BG, your new supplier and BG will agree the date. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks, although it can sometimes be longer.
I'd say if you are picking between nPower and another supplier, go for the other one, however I just have a personal dislike of nPower0 -

Probably good advice but if N power have a really good offer I might as well take advantage of them and then leave after a year.
How long are the Npower sign online tariffs good for and are there any catches? I couldn't fnd much info on their site - presumably you still get a paper bill and things like that?0
