parking fine help

Hi I am asking for advice because my husband is digging his heels in ignoring parking fine letters and I just want it to be sorted.

In July my husband received letter from Glasgow City Council with details of illegal parking in June 2011 and a £60 parking fine. We live in England, we were not in Glasgow at that time so my husband rang the council and said it wasn't him. The girl on the phone replied "oh yes I can see we have got the registration wrong it wasn't you please send your log book details etc so that we can correct our records."

Husband refused to do this on principle that it is their error and he should not be inconvenienced. He then received a £90 fine and has now received a final demand from the Sheriff & Debt Collection. A Sheriff will call and serve a charge for payment or an arrestment of bank account which will incur legal fees.

My husband says let them. I just want to know where he stands and what he should be doing as I don't want any debt / non payment of fines / extra charges on any reference.

Thanks :wall:

He needs to appeal in writing. A phone call will not be enough.

By being stubborn and not wanting to be inconvenienced, he has only inconvenienced himself further. Mistakes happen. Why don't YOU just send them what they want.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Thanks that was quick. Im his wife not his mother which is why I shouldn't have to send them what they need. :D Besides I don't know what they need and I doubt they would discuss it with me without his permission.

Looks like I will just have to NAG him to send the stuff off :rotfl:
