Girona airport to Perpignan.

I am going at the end of March. The cheapest option from Glasgow seems to be Ryanair, Prestwick to Girona (Barcelona). Does anyone know if I would be better hiring a car at Girona airport or get a bus or train to France and then hire a car. I have not been to the south of France before so any help would be gratefully received.

Hire the car in Spain - Girona isn't that far from the French border and it will be cheaper than in France. I've got terrible memories of hiring a car in Perpignan - I booked an Espace/C8 size car (7 people + luggage) and they gave us a Zafira - apparantly it is the same class car. I had lots of arguments , had to call in the manager and ended up with a school minibus!0
