Hello
I was using my laptop today and it just cut out. No blue screen, nothing, just as if it had been switched off.
The battery seemed fine.
I did a cmd chkdsk/f check and that was fine.
Can anyone offer any other suggestions please?
Thanks.

Could it be doing with a clean out? Maybe it's overheated. My first computer cut out one morning and wouldn't boot up. After getting it cleaned out of dust it worked fine untill I got rid of it.0

Similar problem here. Happens occasionally. I think mine is to do my battery. So :-
0. Was the laptop still and on hard surface when it switched off?
1. Were you running on battery only?
2. How old is the battery?
3. Get a temp monitor (as above poster mentioned - might be heat releated; had you noticed that fan coming on alot?)0 -

1. Yes it was on a still and hard surface. It's always on a table, not a lap.
2. No, it was plugged to mains.
3. Probably around three years old.
4. No, it doesn't seem to be that hot.

Tricky then. Make sure you have anything important backed up (obviously) and check your temps(might be a temp in BIOS) or get temp monitor s/w. As other poster said, do a visual inspection of fan inlet/outlet for dust.0
