    - nowt wrong with Linux - its a good platform

I know - Arch Linux is my main OS and I love it... But for lesser-used PCs (my media server and print server) it was so easy to create a custom-XP CD using nLite with everything I need pre-installed and configured. The only maintenance they require is handled by a script I wrote that runs when Windows starts and updates the various anti-malware applications. If I ever need to re-install, I can boot from the CD, install a couple of applications and can be up and running in about an hour.

Linux is great and probably runs faster, but I find that XP is easier for old machines that you just need to work without any tweaking.
