  • Terms and Conditions

By participating you agree to the requirements set out in all promotional materials and the following General Terms and Conditions.

Open to residents of the UK and Northern Ireland, aged 12 and over. Not open to anyone professionally associated with this promotion. Sainsbury's reserves the right to request proof of identity or to verify eligibility conditions and to award any prize to the winner in person.

Entrants must be 12 and over and will need to nominate the name of a school (rather than a specific pupil) and answer the question correctly to enter the prize draw. The nominated school must not be a primary school (i.e. it must have pupils over 12). Sainsbury's will contact you using the details you provide to verify that you are over 12 and to discuss your nominated school. The nominated school will be contacted to verify it's consent once the winning school has been selected. If the nominated school does not agree to receive the prize, you can nominate an alternative school or we will select an alternative winner.

Maximum one entry per person unless otherwise stated. Entries via agents or third parties or the use of multiple identities and email addresses are not permitted.

Only online entries via the promotion website will be accepted. Entries must be completed online by the closing date. Use of automated entries or programs is prohibited and all such entries will be disqualified.

The winner will be selected in a random draw within 24 hours of the closing date at midnight on 28th November 2011 from all correct entries received.
Winner will be contacted within 24 hours of the draw and must have accepted the prize within 48 hours of being notified or an alternative winner and school will be drawn.

Sainsbury's reserves the right to disqualify late, misdirected, incomplete, corrupted, lost, illegible or invalid entries.

For online entries: Sainsbury's cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure access to the website and is not responsible for any disruption to the promotion or the website due to technical problems or otherwise due to events outside of its reasonable control.

Entries must be submitted via https://www.sainsburysharrypottercompetition.com , and entry is restricted to one per person. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. The winner will be drawn at random from all entries received by the closing date. All entries must be received by midnight on 28th November 2011.

The winner's name and county can be obtained by sending a self addressed envelope to Harry Potter Competition, Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, 33 Holborn, London EC1N 2HT between 10/12/11 and 24/12/11.

Sainsbury's decision concerning the determination of the competition winners and all matters relating to the competition will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into..

The prize is a visit from Rupert Grint to the winner's nominated secondary school for a duration of two hours maximum, at a time and date agreed between the winner's nominated school and representatives of Rupert Grint.

The winner must confirm acceptance of the prize by 2nd December 2011, ie, within 2 days of being notified. In the event of the winner being unable to confirm their acceptance of the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Rupert Grint is available on selected dates between 5th December 2011 to 1st March 2012, and so the winner's nominated school must agree to host the event between these dates.

No cash or other alternative prizes are available.

By accepting the prize, the winner and his/her nominated school agree to participate in reasonable publicity surrounding the promotion.

Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter, and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion, and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter or any third party prize provider (including Warner Bros. and Rupert Grint) as a result thereof.

Personal data will only be used to administer the promotion and send out prizes. The Sainsbury's Privacy Policy shall apply to all personal information provided by you. The Sainsbury's Privacy Policy can be found at https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/privacy .

There is only one prize winner.

Prize winners and attendees of the school benefiting from the prize may be required to sign a ÔPrize Acceptance Form' before the prize is awarded. If a prize winner or attendee is under the age of 18 years, a parent or guardian may be required to sign a ÔPrize Acceptance Form' before the prize is awarded.

It is the responsibility of the school benefiting from the prize to ensure that attendees of the prize visit are of the appropriate age and, if they are under the age of 18 years, that their parents or guardians consent to their attendance.

It is the responsibility of the school benefiting from the prize to decide whether to allow the prize winner to attend the prize visit.

It is the responsibility of the school benefiting from the prize to provide a safe, appropriate, suitable venue on school premises for the prize visit to take place.

It is the responsibility of the school benefiting from the prize to ensure that the prize visit is adequately supervised by suitably qualified teachers or personnel with sufficient authority to do so.

There is no cash alternative to prizes which are subject to availability, non-transferable, non-negotiable and non-refundable. Prizes may not be sold, offered for sale or used in connection with any other competition or promotion by the prize winner.

    Promoter: Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, 33 Holborn, London EC1N 2HT.
