I've sold my house to avoid defaulting - can't afford to buy another one so am moving in with family until I'm sorted. Just called BT to cancel my account and they want to charge me £100! Anyone else come across this? Anything I can do about it?

How long did you have left on your contract when you breached it?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

The ETC's are clearly outlined in the BT T&C's, and if correctly calculated then you have to pay them, as you are breaching your minimum term contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
