Sat 19th/Sun20th November: What dfw things have/will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Ooh, nobody's started the thread yet , so I thought I better had, to keep us all on our best behaviour
Today I will:
Washing on line to dry First lot out, second in machine
Ring a couple of insurance brokers to see if I can get a better deal on my car insurance renewal (it isn't bad, but might be able to get it cheaper
) I have given up on the price comparison web sites because of all the spam / junk phone calls I get every time I use one  Done, got the same cover, with the same company for £36 less
HM meals
Walk to the shops instead of using the car, saves petrol and free exercise
Not buy anything that isn't on the list - having to carry it or trundle in my trolley will help with this :rotfl:
Plant some bulbs that have been around for ages later
Examine my lovely cyclamen plant as it looks as though it is being eaten by something BIG :eek: Or better still get OH to do it
Organise study as it is still chaotic after our move back in July
Clean chickens out
That will probably do me for today and most of tomorrow as well!

for moi it's:
1. Walk not drive to Mr T to buy what food I need (rather than spending £60+ online with Mr S in order to save £9!).
2. On walk pick danelions and long grass for guineas to save me needing to buy some herbs etc for them (oh yeah?? my animals have more luxuries than I do!).
3. After battle with conscience have decided to return some items bought from ASOS and Wilko - that will save me £100 in total. That money can go into my OP savings pot.
4. Can I include something from last night: not going out for a takeaway even though I craved one.
5. Sort out some bits for eBay.
6. Re Mr T - set myself a £10 limit.... (I'll report back later on how I do with this!).0 -
Well haven't done this for yonks...
But today I got a leather arm chair (dry and clean) for free from downstairs...
So I've just yanked my old sofa down stairs and now I have a blitz to do....
Praise God it's sunny :A
And I'm meeting Allie for coffee (from the PAD thread) at 2pm - yay - should be interesting...real life MSEer...

Morning all ! I too was missing in action yesterday!
I've had visitors (mum and sister) since Friday and they've just gone home. We did the annual torture of the Xmas shopping - all over thankfully:j
Lots to do today - a full weekend of stuff to do in one day - booo!
Have already taken the dogs to the park and had a quick tidy of the kitchen but still to do...- Hoover and dust house
- All food from stores (not sure what's for tea yet)
- Loads of schoolwork and marking to do (probably about 5 hours worth:mad:) - being observed on Tuesday and so everything has to be tip top.
- Dye hair
- Pop to pet shop
- Do two loads of washing and dry naturally indoors
- Do nails - in a shocking state:o
- Wash wooden floors - lots of doggy foot prints (8 feet have paraded over it for a few days)
- Walk dog again
- Have a look at the month's budget again
- Update diary
