Hi,Please could you give me any advice on the cheapest way to get to Runcorn East. There will be 2 adults and 1 child. I intend to get a family and friends railcard as this will knock the price down. We are travelling on December 30th about 9am and returning on January 2nd yet again after 9am.Many thanks in advance.

  • If you look on the TrainLine you will see it is £116 plus the cost of the Railcard, with a choice of times.

Thanks. Just wondered if it was possible to get it under a £100 with any clever ideas?

£31.70 out on the 0956 from Bognor and £68.55 back on most if not all trains

This is to Runcorn, not Runcorn East though. Runcorn East is a bit more for the outward ticket

You might be able to reduce the price of the return journey by splitting in London

Don't use the trainline!! They will charge you booking fees and credit card fees.

Use RedSpottedhanky or one of the train operators websites eg London Midland, East Coast, First Great Western, Northern Rail who will all let you book and collect/deliver for free!

Unless you find for some reason, the trainline are offering cheper tickets and teh saving would cover the booking fees.
