Home for Christmas (I hope)

I'm glad to hear everything is going ok(ish) and that you are looking forward to being home by Christmas.
Online shopping works well - I did my Christmas shopping that way a while ago when undergoing chemo.
Another option - and this would also save the giftwrapping problem - would be to give gift or book tokens.
Take it easy ....0 -
Jen thats great news !!! why not just buy them all gift vouchers?i`m sure they`d understand this year
failing that m&s already have some great toiletry gifts half price and others 3 for 2 and free del.when you spend £30
keep a daily check on the grabbit now board or hukd http://www.hotukdeals.com/0 -
One thing I do if I don't want to give JUST gift tokens is to find something silly or small to go with it.
I know it's not going to be easy to browse charity shops etc, but today I picked up named post-it notes for 20p for a couple of people. And there's Hawkins Bazaar, full of 'silly' and not-so-silly things which can be packed up with a cheque or token.
One of the most intriguing presents I ever got, btw, was just a cheque, BUT it had been folded and wrapped up in a medicine bottle, so it rattled a bit but not noisily, it was an odd shape etc.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Im sure the best present for them is your speedy recovery and continued good health

Ive had a talk with the ward sister (first nurse who popped in today). She's got some HNC health care students who are here on placement. They're trained in moving and handling and they've got disclosures but they're not student nurses learning clinical skills, this is more a taster and learning bedside skills so we're going to borrow one and use me as the "independence" part of their course.
Also got my invitation to the work Christmas party which I might go along to for the meal so I need to go dress shopping. Thinking something like this http://www.oasis-stores.com/Double-Cloth-Full-Skirted-Dress/Dresses/oasis/fcp-product/3470071818 because it will cover the scars but still has a nice neck line.0 -

Good [ if you mean the shopping outside of the Hospital bit ] that's a good starting point Jen, I'm pleased for you lass !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Yeah they can take me out. As I'm an adult I could technically roll out myself but that isn't the best plan. Just need to find someone who is up for it now though it seems like a pretty easy job.0

They [ whoever they may be ] can spend their day bottled up in the Hospital unit or out [ and free ] in their town doing your thing and getting real independent and verified ' hands on experience ' to write in their 'record' of learning. I would be shocked if they are not fighting each other for the job.
- me ? - I'd make sure I built into the day, the time and the money to treat them to a McDoolies & Coffee etc
- and offer if they wish to 'sign off' their record of learning for that day
Best to you Jen 'R'Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Lovely dress for your Christmas party - the colour is gorgeous and I agree that the neckline is very nice and will cover your scar. Having said that, be proud of your scar. My little fella likes to show his off. Fine for those on his stomach, chest and shoulder blade, but I'm glad he doesn't try to show the one on his groin

I have a scar on my throat - from the removal of a birth mark. Most people think it is the result of a tracheotomy and are very disappointed when I tell them what it actually is :rotfl:. One friend said that I'd taken away the romance and mystery - although what is romantic about surgery, I have yet to discover!0 -
Just wanted to say that I hope you are feeling loads better and to wish you a Happy Christmas
KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0
