If you are in Nottingham there is quite a bit to do that doesn't cost the earth. Major oak is a lovely trip out. English heritage and national trust, have you though about volunteering? Are you city, suburbs or country? I used to do a lot of mystery shopping in Nottingham when I lived in the next county, there was always a lot there.0
