I meant NTL TV Drive :)

Its just been released! They're not advertising either. Ring 150 and ask to order the NTL TV Drive. Extra £10 a month and £25 installation..

    And wow its amazing! :)

Free install surely....or are they only charging NTL customers?

Top Gear will probably be on Teleport Replay (or have they called it NTLPort :T ) , so you can watch it anytime you like in the next week.

Pity about the 1 HD channel howveer...getting past a joke now.

If you mean "NTL On Demand" sercice yes Top Gear is on there. Its free for NTL TV Drive users and costs for none tv drive ones and the whole series will be there all year I think!!!

As for installation. If your in a 12 months contract its £25 no quibble.

If your not in contract and threaten to leave you can usually get it free etc...

As for the 1 HD Channel it is a joke but then again, by the time HD becomes standard in the home there will be more channels for sure!

ATM HD wouldn't be the deciding factor for me. NTL Tv drive has HD built in but I believe with Sky you have to pay extra installation charges as well as the channels??!?!!?!

HD is great for next gen consoles but standard is fine for tv atm :P

i dont like ntl, i had them for three years. now i have sky plus, no looking back
  • Bambers, in all fairness NTL was a poorely run company.

It is now Virgin Media and has the TV Drive (created by TIVO) which is proven to be better than Sky + as well as a better on demand (teleport) service.

Its what every ntl customer has been waiting for really! I used to hate them with a passion, but now my heart couldnt be fonder :) As a student I get a fantastic package which is so easy to maintain etc.... and I cant wait for my 12 months to be up to barter it even cheaper!

While I agree that ntl isn't as bad as some people think, and that it is slowly getting better.... It's not Virgin Media yet (You'll know when it does become VM as you'll not be able to get away from Richard Branson :rotfl:)
BUT TV Drive was NOT created by TIVO, it was done by Scientific Atlanta and programed by in-house staff :D Sorry to be pedantic :p

Sky have opened up ALL theiir channels to Freeview satellite viewers for the month of February. Just long enough to appreciate how often films are repeated and that there are adverts in the middle of a paid-for service! The reason that I won't have Sky paid-for is I only watch a few hours a week of TV, so not worth paying £8 a week (as well as the usual TV license) just to get the wide choice.

Apologies, I didn't realise NTL had launched it as well. IS it the same as the Telewest one? At least they're only charging £25 for installation, Ihad to pay £50 for my TV Drive to be installed.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
