I am just completing the form to start a claim for being mis sold PPI when my partner and I took out a secured loan. It was implied we would not be able to progress the with the loan if we did not have PPI frorm them. However we were covered via both employers at the time and another policy.

My problem is I can not find any information on where to send the claim, for First National Consumer Finance Ltd.

I know the loan provider was GE Money, but my claim is against First National so I am not sure what to do.

I will go off and do some more searching but if anyone knows if they still exist that would be fantastic.

Ignore me on checking the paperwork they have the same address as GE Money.

On what grounds do you think it was missold.

Remember if you did not keep up repayments on a secured loan you could lose your home so there seems to have been a clear need for cover.

FirstNation would always sell five year single-premuims (although the loans were usually over longer period).

If it was sold after 15th January 2005 you should make a complaint including:

- The policy didn't cover the full term of the loan;
- They charged you interest on the PPI but this wasn't made clear in the paperwork;
- The rebate terms were unfair.

If it was sold before then, things will be harder because you won't have the option of using the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). The business will no doubt reject the complaint if they know you can't use the FOS.
