Tax Credit overpayment

Hi
I hope one of you guys can help me, I had an over payment of around £750 back in 2007/08 since then I have been entitled to some tax credits but the amount has been withheld to repay the overpayment. I've now been told that as the salary threshold has been reduced I'm now not entitled to any tax credit and as such I owe £391, I'll find this really difficult to pay does anyone know how flexible they are in repaying the money? ie. if I can only pay back £10 a month will this be acceptable? and also do they ever agree to reduce the debt given the timescales?
Sorry I was just looking for some pointers before I call them I'm kind of putting it off

Hi neetsy,
we were also overpayed and have our payments for this year witheld, ours should be payed of by the start of next tax year when due to changes we will also be above the threshold for tc. I dont think they will agree to reduce the amount you owe but am sure they will let you have a repayment scheme as they did with my friend who was in similar circumstances to yourself.0
