Non refundable jewellery

I ordered some items from a store online and when I received it, was disappointed in the jewellery I had ordered.
They only have a few stores so I can't always check out an item before I buy it, but I bought a few items and decided to order one item of jewellery as it looked nice on the website, and looks okay in person but not much like the website. The jewellery item also looks like it is made out of cheaper material.
I know I took a chance in ordering, but I thought if I could somehow return it or exchange it, I would try to. The order note says jewellery is non refundanble, as are some other items, unless it falls under some distance selling regulations or something like that. I did email them to say I was less than happy with the product, but I can't even exchange it.
I suppose I'll keep it if there is nothing else I can do, but is there any way for me to even get an exhange? I haven't worn it, and it's all in its packaging, and I know many others would probably like the jewellery, but it's not for me. Please answer whether there is a way to return or exchange under law, or if there isn't, then I will simply keep it.

What type of jewellery was it?One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

It's a necklace. Not made out of real silver or gold or anything.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Thank you for your replies.
Is there a line I could email to them? I did reply to them saying I want to return it under DSR but if I could have the actual line it would be better to email them that.
I don't really like to give gifts that I don't like myself. I mean it is okay but I'm not sure how another person would like it, although the store is popular for jewellery. I may do so if I have no other option, but I'd rather have my money back and buy something I know I like.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Assuming you are dealing with a UK based business seller then as long as your email states that you wish to return the item in line with your rights granted by the Distance Selling Regulations then they are obliged to provide a refund within 30 days. You only need to state you wish to cancel your order (any other information is helpful but not strictly required by the letter of the law).
Aside from the exclusions mentioned above, they have no right to claim that you cannot return it.
You could always point them at the OFT's guide for businesses & ask them to point out the grounds under which they are denying your right to return: http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf.0 -
Thank you for the reply. I will await their response.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
