H-L introduces a Tracker Platform Charge

I know they have some trackers but like HL and most other bundled platforms, they offer them on a loss leader/cross subsidy basis.
Fidelity haven't yet introduced fees but I'm sure they will. That said, the preferred method of the unbundled platforms is either to have a percentage applied or a fixed annual fee up to a certain amount and percentage after that.
Personally, I'd prefer a fixed fee or percentage with cap, but an uncapped percentage is acceptable to me as long as it's very low, which means 10 bps max.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

This appeared. Very interest that BestInvest will pay up to £500 towards exist fees charged by HL...0 -
Yup, and give you £300 for moving to them. Of course, this wasn't a major factor for my choosing them, but it's nice bunce!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

I only have £3k in mine. Can you lend me another £47k so I can also get this?
They are still quite expensive for me. If I invest in a tracker fund (I assume they don't pay annual commission) then it will cost £12.50+VAT a quarter, stil cheaper at HL for the tracker funds (assuming less than 3 or so trackers where HL charge £1/£2 a month). I don't at the moment so could benefit.
I'll wait until RDR stuff comes in before moving.0 -

It's not all new money as there's an older pension and some PR going into mine. They are still quite expensive for me.
Different platforms will be better for different people, and I'm even finding that we're better off holding our ISAs on different platforms to our pensions.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

I don't think BestInvest (currently) charge the custody fee for HSBC trackers. They do for vanguard trackers.

I ran the numbers and I'm better with Vanguard trackers for my SIPP but HSBC ones for my wife's. However, come RDR it'll probably be all change.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Thanks for that. It did say in the charge area they charge for those that do not provide comission, but didn't say which ones - only to look at fact sheet.
I assume from this

That its called Custody Charge.0 -

Yes not bad but not the cheapest - for an ISA with only IT's and/or shares Sippdeal have no annual charge and slightly lower dealing charges, while idealing has an annual charge of £20 (£5 per quarter) and slightly lower dealing charges and xo has a no frills service with no annual charge and low dealing fees (£5.95).

Yes I think that was it. Scary if true.0
