Hotel Room 2 adults 3 kids newcastle

Hope someone can help we are travelling to Butlins, Skegness in July from Northern Ireland. We want to spend a night in Newcastle (preferably near metro centre) to break up the long journey back to Scotland and the ferry. Is there anywhere that'll let three kids stay in the same room as their parents? Two rooms for one night costs nearly as much as staying in Haven for four nights on the way there!!

Would a b&b offer a better\cheaper alternative. Kids ages 11, 9 and 3. Really appreciate any advice, willing to stay anywhere else roughly halfway between Skegness and Stranrear if anyone has any recommendations.

This is our first big holiday and I really want it to go well but still require enough money left after paying for it to drink copious amounts of red wine while the childrens entertainment is on.

  • There is a Marriott at Metro centre - they may have family rooms. Try also Campanile as they are cheap and good. Plenty of Travelodges in area and their cheap room deal may be worth trying.

    Try these :)

https://www.accorhotels.com <---They have the formule 1 hotel about 8 mins from Metro centre and it's £25 a night. They have a bunk bed in each room (double bed on bottom..single bed on top)
Good for stop overs for sure :)

Depends how old the kids are.

we have stayed in a family room at seaton Burn Newcastle Travelodge and there was enough space for a travel cot to go up so we could have had five in the room.

if the kids arent too big they could sleep at opposite ends of the beds.

Thanks for the idea -Youngest is only three. I may be being naive as I'm not used to staying in Hotels but won't I get into trouble and thrown out if they catch five off us going into a room they only allow 4 in?

There is also a Premier Travel Inn and an Express by Holiday Inn at the Metro Centre

We sometimes put 5 or 6 in a Travelodge room (when we can't get a £26 or £15 deal and have to pay full price) and are always nervous about this - it always helps if you don't have to walk directly past check-in to get to your room. We split into 2 groups when we check in and leave 2 outside who come in later, once they have been phoned to say what room to come to.

Washington South Travelodge (just outside Newcastle) is NOT a good place to sneek 5 people into.
  • Thanks for the tip - I have managed to secure two rooms for 13th July at the Washington for £15 each which is very reasonable. I guess my OH and I will
just have to sleep in different rooms with a child or two each.

Thanks to all for the help
