Hi, I know this is an old thread and sorry for bumping but I have been in dire straights as of late due to a loss of hours at work. I was googling for help and ended up on this thread, I've followed all of your advice including using the template letter and am now a very happy bunny! I have been using Wonga for over a year now, in the last 5 months I had gotten to their max loan amount of £1000 and was rolling over every month (spending over £300 just in interest - all for nothing). After following this thread I have now set up a payment plan of £84.93 a month. I have now gone on to do this with all my creditors and my monthly financial situation is so much more manageable. Thank you guys so much!

I've been a long time lurker, but just had to post as I'm so happy.

I was in the same boat as you - been using Wonga for a while now. Finally realised that I cannot continue in the cycle so I emailed them and set-up a payment plan of £173 p/m to clear my loan amount of just over £1200. It was such a relief when the plan was setup and now I can finally breath (and relax) knowing that the money I earn is not being eaten up the day I get paid.

The email I used was customercare@wonga.com.

They do take their time getting back in touch with you though. I waited around a week in total until we finally got somewhere, then they sent me a link to fill in a 'ingoings and outgoings' form to work out what monthly payments I could afford.

Good luck! And try not to worry x

  • I have never posted on a forum before but just read through all the post. I'm in the same situation as most people on her and buried under a mountain of pay day debt, which has been making me incredible depressed.

After reading all the adivice I feel more able to cope with this and plan to spend all day tomorrow contacting the companies to try and sort it out as I didn't think they would consider payment plans.

I really can't thank everyone enough as I was beginning to wonder how I could cope anymore. I now feel like a massive weight has been lifted and am able to finally deal with my payday debt

Well done! Why not start a new thread yourself, post up an SOA and see what help and support people can give you personally?
