  • Income related ESA Support Group can get additional Disability Premiums, enhanced Disability premiums and severe disability premiums.

But only for income related claimants. Otherwise its a straight £96 a week (paid fortnightly).

i think i read somewhere that if your IB is higher than ESA you'll stay on the higher rate until ESA catches up ie you'll NEVER get more money than you get now.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of additional Disability Premiums, enhanced Disability premiums and severe disability premiums! We had a benefits advisor completing the forms with us & my son receives £113.90 per week ESA so could they already be included in that or are they something we need to apply for separately?

ETA: He's 18, on HM & HC, in the Support Group, in full time education in a special school, living in the family home & has no savings or other means of income.
