Bad leg - What should I do?

I think you must persevere with your GP and ask for more help or referral to the pain clinic. They will help you manage your pain and if it is so severe that you won't be able to work again, then yes you are entitled to apply for ESA etc and see if your claim is successful.
my BIL is on it for fibromyalgia and he can walk, he can't walk without pain though but he can walk. It could be argued that he could work in certain jobs and that applies to him on his good days however on his bad days, well he can't get out of bed so holding down a job would be impossible.
good luck and I hope that you get some kind of relief from your pain sometime soon0 -
You need to get a referral to a good specialist and get it looked at again. If there really is nothing they can do then a pain clinic would be the next step. Don't rely on your GP, get help further up the chain.0

Unfortunately.
You will certainly not qualify for ESA, on the facts shown - you are fit to use a manual wheelchair (unless you have other disability).
The test for ESA is 'Can not mobilise 30m, without stopping' or similar. (to get enough points to qualify on this alone)
If you're an otherwise fit man, you will be assessed as able to do this with a manual chair, so not be eligible.
If you can sit down for an hour at a desk, ewithout having to move away, and climb two steps, then you're probably not going to get any points at all.
On DLA, what's your exact situation.
Can you walk 30 yards without severe pain, even at a fairly slow pace?
If so, then you're not eligible for DLA.
I know that in some circumstances achilies tendons can be reattached - my mother was considering this surgery - have you asked for a referral to anyone that might be able to assist?
It should be possible to get some sort of adaption for a car, so you can drive - what's the problem with the leg on the pedal?0 -

Read the OP, the clues are all their and they havnt a hope in hell of getting DLA>
With respect, this part of the forum is not a platform for your opinion. You are not privvy to the OP's medical records. You are not a decision maker.
The fact remains that you gave false information when you said:for DLA you have to be virtually unable to walk or unable to walk
When in actual fact, the criteria is that 'the person has to virtually be unable to walk or unable to walk without pain'.
It may well be that the OP will not receive DLA but, unless you know what information is provided in the application form, you are not in a position to decide whether or not someone will receive DLA. That is the job of the decision maker.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0
