I would def second the recommendation for Parc Guell.... tho it is a bit of a trek from the metro I really enjoyed it and would def go again,
Keep an eye out for metro tickets... you can share them between two people and the T10 ticket is fantastic value.
Have a great time everyone who is going, I'm v jealous!
LucyVery excited to be marrying my partner in crime for the last 7 years in September 2012 :jNo longer a midlandsfairy... back living in the sunny south!0 -
I will be flying out with easyjet on Sat, think the flight is about 11am, coming back with BA(I KNOW!!) next Tuesday, hopefully the strike won't happen again.......otherwise I will be stuck in Barcelona0

Visit El Xampanyet. It's a tiny Cava bar on C/Montcada, in the Bari Gotic, near the Picasso museum. Order Cava by the bottle, it really is affordable, and Tapas at very reasonable prices. This is not a trendy wine bar, just a little back street place that serves local wine and incredible Tapas at reasonable prices. I last visited it last year, with 3 friends. We had 4 bottles of Cava, numerous plates of Tapas and the whole bill was less than £40. It can get quite busy though but it's worth waiting a little while to get a table.0

One more thing guys, I have read many times that pickpockets are everywhere in Barcelona, is it really that bad? And any suggestions about area/place to avoid? Also is it safe to use credit card in Barcelona?(Worry about the card get cloned...)I would assume it should be all right in big shopping malls, but smaller shops?0

Out of interest what did the 1p flights work out at TOTAL with this new increase in tax?
Here is a good link about getting from girona to Barc
http://www.spanish-airport-guide.com/girona-barcelona.html
Also can anyone tell me about parking at Stansted just for two days
which is the cheapest car park to use.0 -
Hi,
Fraid the pickpockets info is correct. Barca is infamous for it. I know a couple of people who've been on the wrong end of it, both along the Ramblas, that said neither came to any harm... and we had a delightful trouble free trip when we went. I guess the usual obvious tourist advice: don't wear lots of jewellery, don't wave money and cards about too freely, keep valuables/money close and preferably buttoned/zipped up etc is the best safeguard.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -
As others have mentioned, make sure you don't miss Sagrada Familla.
I'd also head for Gaudi's Park for a relaxing stroll and some great views of the city if you're not looking to do too much.
